Honoring tradition through creativity, culture, and community / Honrando la tradición con creatividad, cultura y comunidad
MEET THE TEAM
This year’s ofrenda and celebration come to life through the creativity and dedication of local residents and business owners who believe in honoring tradition, fostering community, and celebrating culture in meaningful ways.
-
DIANA GRAN
As a local business owner and portrait artist behind Diana Gran Portraits, Diana serves as Director of Día de los Muertos Week. She curates the experiences offered by participating businesses and oversees community programming, blending cultural authenticity with creative collaboration. Her work centers on building connections and creating experiences that celebrate heritage and bring people together.
-
JESICA RIVERO
Jessica is the creative force behind the ofrenda installation and design. A local designer passionate about elevating culture in Highland Park, she transforms tradition into art — weaving symbolism, color, and story into a contemporary expression of remembrance and unity.
-
SARAH DAVIDSON & JUSTINO NICOLAZ
Sarah, a Highland Park landscape designer and co-owner of Nicolaz and Son Lawn Care with her husband, Justino Nicolaz of Oaxaca, leads the floral installation for the ofrenda. For them, this tradition carries deep personal meaning — a way to honor their roots and share the beauty of Mexican culture through flowers and nature.
